Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving Day was way last month and I’m only writing now about it. Oh, well, better late than never! The holiday season is a very, very busy time for grannies. We’re busy decorating and baking and buying presents and well, I’ve been busy caroling, too! I just love singing Christmas songs! Oh, but that’s my next entry… Let’s get back to Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving day was so warm and wonderful with so many good friends and family! We had a house full of people and other critters! We all had fun baking apple pies from scratch! Yes, there’s nothing like a homemade pie still warm from the oven. First, we peeled apples galore. Then, we made the pie crust. Somehow most of the flour seemed to end up on Raven and Scarlett!
We also made fruit salad. “Ambrosia” we call it. We picked the oranges fresh from my very own orange tree! Yes, I have both an orange tree and a lemon tree in my backyard. So sometimes we make fresh lemonade, too. (You can watch Buttons and Bows and me make lemonade in the video “Happity Birthday!” Order a copy under Children’s Products.) Ah, but again I stray…
Back to Thanksgiving. We had a marvelous, sumptous feast of turkey and trimmings. We played all kinds of word games. We took a walk in the crisp, autumn air. But the day would not have been complete without our time together sharing and giving thanks for our many, many, many blessings!
