God has His very own calendar.  Nisan, usually in March or April on our calendar, is the first month of the year.  In the book of Exodus, YHWH spoke to Moses and his brother Aaron:  

“This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.”  Exodus 12:2

Some Messianic rabbis believe that Jesus Christ (Yeshua) was born on Nisan 1. Yeshua is also called “Emmanuel” meaning “God with us”. This “God with us” came to deliver us from sin’s slavery so that we may live forever with Him.  But Yeshua was not born on December 25th or Christmas. The LORD is bringing more people to know the facts about the Messiah’s birth, especially since we now have many Messianic Jews that tell us of their culture in Israel. Some rabbis also consider that Nisan 1 is the anniversary of the beginning of the creation, the dawn of NEW LIFE upon the earth! Isn’t it appropriate that in the spring, when new life is blooming all around, our Messiah was born? Yeshua brings us NEW LIFE in the Spirit!

OTHER CALENDARS

The calendar that the world system operates on is the western or Gregorian calendar. The New Year is on January 1st. Then there’s the Chinese calendar with a New Year being some time between January or February on the western calendar. There’s Egyptian calendars, Babylonian calendars, Indian calendars, and all kinds of calendars.

In the early years of this century, the Aztec calendar became popular because some thought that it predicted the end of the world! But it really didn’t. In India, while I was there on a mission trip, billboards were posted that predicted the end of the world in 2012! I was asked whether it would be the end. “No,” was my answer. “We need not worry.” God’s calendar had supplied me the answer!

Christians need not worry about the world ending now! The Word of God tells us there is more to happen! For instance, Yeshua has NOT yet come back to earth!

We need not worry about Global Warming flooding the world. The world will not end that way! The LORD Adonai promised and He gave the rainbow as a sign that He would not end the world through flooding!

We don’t have to worry about aliens from another planet destroying us because that is also not how the world will end. These so-called aliens may be demons. Faithful Christians are protected from demons by the LORD! One could tell them, if you are a Christian, plainly to “go away in the name of Yeshua!”

God’s Very Own Calendar

So Christians should know God’s very own calendar because it makes us aware of God’s plans for the future. Yeshua will come again! After Yeshua returns to earth, there is a Millennium, or a 1000-year reign with Yeshua Our King. And many Christians will rule and reign with Him! That is what we are being trained to do! But one needs to be obedient to the LORD!

This Millennium has been prophesied*. It is prophesied in the Books of Isaiah and Revelation and elswhere. Yeshua Himself prophesied His Second Coming so it will definitely take place. This is why it is important to know God’s calendar. The LORD Adonai has a PLAN and it is revealed in His calendar!

The Spring Feasts

Christ fulfilled – He made it happen! – the events of His First Coming during the SPRING FEASTS. That happened about 2000 years ago. He was crucified as the Passover LAMB of God. Yeshua came to deliver us, and save us from our sins. Yeshua was resurrected. He went up into heaven. He sent His Holy Spirit to live with us forever.

The Spring Feasts reveal what the LORD has already done on this earth in the LORD’s First Coming:

Nisan 1 – Birth of Yeshua the Messiah. This is the spiritual New Year when the Feasts begin! Shana Tova! (in Hebrew)

Feast of Passover – Yeshua the Messiah is our Passover Lamb! He died on the cross for our sins.

Feast of Unleavened Bread – Yeshua the Messiah body was in the tomb, in the grave.

Feast of Firstfruits (Resurrection Sunday)– The Messiah was resurrected!!! Glory to God! HalleluYAH! He is the Firstfruits!

But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. 1 Corinthians 15:23

Feast of Pentecost – Feast of Weeks – The Messiah sent His Holy Spirit!

When the Messiah fulfilled these feasts, including His birth, it was in ONE SPRING!

The Fall Feasts

But when Yeshua returns as the LION of Judah, these will be during the FALL FEASTS that He will make it happen! He will come to deliver us from this corrupt* world of sin! Some people don’t want to do it God’s way, by receiving Yeshua as their Savior! But God doesn’t want anyone to perish! Let us tell the people about the LORD Adonai’s free gift of salvation!

The Fall Feasts have NOT yet been fulfilled by Yeshua Himself.  That would be during His Second Coming!

The Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah)

This is considered the “civil” New Year by the Jewish people. Shana Tova!

This is when the saints, people who follow the LORD, are taken to be with Him in the air. We will be resurrected just like He was!

… in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible*, and we shall be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:52 

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:17

The Day of Atonement (or Judgment for unbelievers) or Yom Kippur

This is when those believers are forgiven and those who don’t accept the LORD’s free gift of salvation are judged.

“And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matthew 25:46

“Behold, I am coming soon, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” Revelation 22:12-13

The Feast of Tabernacles is when we live forever with the LORD! HalleluYAH!

Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection.** …. they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Revelation 20:6

**This is the “resurrection of the just” that Yeshua referred to in Luke 14:14.

When will the Messiah fulfill these feasts? It will probably be in ONE AUTUMN!

In the world, believers will have persecution* and trials, but oh, we will have a glorious future ahead! That’s the PLAN of God’s very own calendar!

Civil – in terms of “time”, fixed by custom or law

Incorruptible – in this case, cannot be destroyed; everlasting; 

but 

Corrupt – in this case, means dishonest & immoral

Persecution – troubles, oppression

Prophesy – to say something will happen in the future. God knows the future because He is “I AM” knowing the past, present, and future.  It is slightly different than a “prediction” because it is coming from God who knows everything! Prophecies from God are sure things!  God makes His Word happen!
