“I AM the Resurrection and the Life.” (John 11:25)

When He walked on the earth 2000 years ago, Yeshua (Jesus Christ) did an absolutely amazing miracle! It is an amazing miracle to us, but it is a natural thing for our Creator-God YAH!

THE STORY OF LAZARUS

Yeshua’s good friend Lazarus had just died. Martha, his sister, was understandably upset and said to Yeshua, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” She was certainly right in saying that because Yeshua healed all who were brought to Him! What Martha didn’t yet realize was that Yeshua could even raise the dead!

Yeshua could raise the dead because He IS LIFE itself! Nothing lives without the Creator imparting life to it. God gives LIFE to all those who trust in Him, even after their physical bodies die!

Yeshua told her, “I AM the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live and everyone who lives and believes in Me, shall never die. Do you believe this?”

That’s a very important question: “Do you believe this?”

Believing in Yeshua, reopens the pathway for His LIFE to flow back into us!

Yeshua is God. He gives life and He is Life. That’s why Yeshua came back to life after they crucified Him. Life is more powerful than death! Life just IS. God IS. That is the meaning of His name, YHWH, the Great I AM.

DEATH IS SEPARATION

The Bible shows that “death” is actually “separation”.

People sin (do wrong) and so separate themselves from the holy God. They separate themselves from LIFE itself. Sin blocks off His Life from flowing in us. Just as a leaf separated from a tree will lose it’s life, turning brown and brittle over time, when we separate ourselves from God who is LIFE, we immediately start to die. But calling on the mighty name of Yeshua reconnects us to the Tree of Life, Yeshua! He pulls us back to Him when we call on His name!

“And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’” (Acts 2:21 quoting from Joel 2:32)

In calling on the name of Yeshua which means “YAH saves” or “I AM salvation”, we call upon LIFE itself!

LIFE SPEAKS

But let’s get back to this resurrection story. Yeshua, who IS LIFE, spoke to Lazarus, after his body had been in the tomb for four days. It is certain that Lazarus was dead after four days in the tomb! If Lazarus had just died, people might have said, he really hadn’t died. But no one could say that for the body of Lazarus had been in the tomb four days! His body was dead and decomposing, just like a brown leaf.

But then comes Yeshua! At the tomb, Yeshua called out, “Lazarus, come out.” And Lazarus, once dead and buried walked out of the tomb to the astonishment of all! Amazing? Not for God. Not for LIFE!

RESURRECTION POWER

Lazarus was not the only one Yeshua raised from the dead.

What is very interesting is that there is SO MUCH LIFE in Christ that when He Himself resurrected from the dead after His death on the cross and burial, so did all the saints buried in Jerusalem!

“52 The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep [died physically] were raised, 53 and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.” (Matthew 27)

Now that is amazing! Hundreds of dead people were brought back to LIFE!

LIFE FOR BELIEVERS

This shows us that there is no absolute death for believers in Yeshua -those who are no longer separated from God who is Life. Sin had separated us but we were brought back to God because Yeshua took care of our sin problem when He died for us on the cross. It was our sin that separated us from the very LIFE of God. But in Yeshua, we are reunited with our LIFE Source!

“But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.” (Ephesians 2:13 NLT)

Our physical bodies may die, and that is necessary because they are not suitable at all for LIFE in heaven. But those who believe in Yeshua, who is “I AM salvation”, cannot ever be separated from Him who is Life. We are never again to be separated from LIFE Himself – even when our old physical bodies die!

“38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8)

So shall we ever live with the LORD! And that, my dears, is the wonderful GOOD NEWS!
