THE TRUTH

Jesus Christ said, “I AM the Way, and the Truth, and the Life.” (John 14:6)

Who else has ever made such a statement!? “I AM the Truth.”

Either Jesus was lying, crazy, or He was claiming to be God. Who but God could truthfully claim to be THE TRUTH?

A person might say, “I’m a true friend” or “I tell the truth” or “I think, therefore, I am” or “I am real” but to say one is THE TRUTH goes far beyond all those statements.

What did Jesus mean?

THE WHOLE TRUTH

Truth is defined as “the true or actual state of a matter”. (dictionary.com)

When one is a witness in court, one must agree to “tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” One must tell the “actual state“ of the matter at hand.

Jesus Christ was telling us He’s the whole truth, the real deal, the real thing. He was telling us that He is the real Creator-God without whom there would be no reality!

“All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made.” (John 1:3)

“For by Him all things were created… and in Him all things hold together”. (Colossians 1:16-17)

There is no reality without God! By His astounding statement, Jesus Christ claimed to be God! And He backed up His statement with miracles and His own Resurrection from the dead!

THE ETERNAL TRUTH

Conflicting news reports. Conflicting “science”. Everybody has an opinion. “History” is being re-written to be politically correct. Social conduct is changing, not really for the better. In a day when it is hard to figure out what is true and what is not, it’s good to know that YHWH-God remains ever the same. The eternal Truth doesn’t change.

God told Moses His name was “I AM that I AM”, YHWH in Hebrew. A Hebrew interpretation of this name is summed up in the word “Eternal”: “He was, He is, He will be.” That’s the truth. There is nothing truer than God. He always IS and always will be. He is eternal truth. And Jesus Christ made this bold statement:

“Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” (John 8:58)

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

Nothing is truer than God. God doesn’t change. He is eternal truth. That is a source of endless comfort to those who know the Truth!

THE TRUTH FOR YOU

Do you want to know the comfort that comes from the Eternal Truth? Do you want to know the truth about life? Jesus Christ IS the Truth. He is the Truth about Life.

“God, I just want to know the truth!” That was my prayer that God answered for me. His answer changed my life. His answer was the revelation of the person of Jesus Christ. Meeting the spirit of Jesus Christ changed my life. Surely, in my own life, the Truth has set me free!

Jesus Christ will do the same for you. Do you want to know the Truth? Ask God to show you the Truth. He will reveal to you Jesus Christ, Immanuel, “God with us”!  When you encounter Him, you will know He is the Truth for yourself!

“and you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
