WHERE YESHUA WALKED  

A Visit to Israel

Yeshua (Jesus Christ’s Hebrew name) lived and died and rose again in the country of Israel about 2000 years ago.  He will also return there in splendor as the King of Kings.

There were no cameras back when Yeshua walked the earth but maybe these photos of present day Israel will give you an idea about the Messiah’s earthly homeland.

Yeshua was born in the little town of Bethlehem fulfilling the prophecy spoken by the prophet Micah:

“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.”  Micah 5:2  (See also O Little Tower – VIDEO )

Yeshua grew up as a boy in the town of Nazareth. fulfilling another prophecy.

“So Joseph got up, took the Child and His mother, and came into the land of Israel…. And he went and lived in a city called Nazareth, so that what was spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that He would be called a Nazarene.”  (Matthew 2:21,23)

Yeshua grew into adulthood.  He began His public earthly ministry of teaching and healing after He was baptized by his cousin John the Baptist in the Jordan River.

“Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him….. And when Jesus was baptized, immediately He went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on Him;  and behold, a voice from heaven said, ‘This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.’”  (Matthew 3:13, 16, 17)

Yeshua taught the people on the hillsides around the Sea of Galilee.

“Now when Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to Him, and He began to teach them…”  (Matthew 5:1-2)

The hillsides around the Sea of Galilee are verdant green in the springtime.
