We trimmed this tree so it would grow bigger and better lemons!
These green lemons will turn YELLOW when they are ripe.
“I AM the true vine.” (John 15:1)
Jesus Christ (Yeshua) is the true vine. The Father of all is the vinedresser, the One who prunes and takes care of the vine. Yeshua compared Himself to the vine because He is the Tree of Life.
We are mere branches. But we want to grow good fruit!
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23
If we don’t yield good fruit, Yeshua said that God would take away the withered branches to burn them! We don’t want to be plucked out of the vine Who is our Life!
The knack of bearing the fruit of the Spirit is staying close to the LORD in prayer and worship and study of the Scriptures.
“I AM the vine; you are the branches.” John 15:5
How can we do anything good apart from Him? We will yield much fruit, and bigger fruit, if we are near to Him!
A time may come when God will prune us! These may be trials and tough spots, but God will prune us to grow more.
“He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.” Matthew 13:23b
I want to be someone who yields a 100-fold crop! This is what we can do for our Savior who created us, redeems us and lives in us!
But we must be careful to keep His Commandments and His Word!
“If you keep my commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” John 15:10-11
Our joy will be full! Not just a little bit of joy, but a lot!
He is building a Kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy! The LORD call us there!
“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide …” John 15:16
So let’s go and bear the fruit of the Spirit!
